... dublin.

'twas a lovely drive from Cork to Dublin ... the countryside was stunningly beautiful, despite the rain (... lotsa "oh look, another castle!"s as well!

a nice dinner and a walk around town, a morning tour tomorrow, and then off to London for the weekend ... i can't wait to see my friend Alex ,. and hopefully my good friend Rikke as well ...

hiya!!

so i'm sitting here in an internet cafe .. in Cork, a lovely little city in the south of Ireland. students abound, dotting the quaint streets and parks ... with their little shops and pubs ...
my trip so far has been fabulous (... other than my bag arriving three days after me!)
i started in Galway and did some wonderul days trips: one to the Aran islands .. Inishmann, to be exact .. a beautifully secluded rugged landscape where we lost ourselves in the windy rock-fenced fields .... and another to the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher; absolutely breathtaking scenery ...
yesterday it poured all day, but i soaked in the culture from the comfort of the student-house (read: i watched the soaps with the girls and caught up on the local craic)
tonight we'll go out on the piss, and tomorrow, likely the same in Dublin, before heading to London for a long weekend ...

late registration

i was sitting on a patio in the village with D having brunch ... when the conversation turned (as it does) to new music ... we each gave our reviews of the new Kanye West album .... and just as the crowd quieted around us, i blurted out:

"yeah, but i'm still digesting College Dropout ..."

each morning we stop at starbucks on our way to the mexican border, and each day they ask me for my name so they can write it on my cup and call me when my drink is ready ...

well, i hate it when these mega-chains try to be homey by asking my name, so i give a new one each time. since we're in a spanish area (and it's a fairly common name), i thought to myself: "wouldn't it be funny if ...



"jesus, your venti pumpkin-spice latte with soy is ready ..." LOL
