Could I have neither? Barring losing one of my limbs, I don't think I would want it replaced with something artificial.
However, if, say, I was...err.. waylaid by pirates, and forced to lose a limb with the understanding that it would later be replaced with a bionic one (they are some strange pirates, I guess), I would have to say a bionic arm. It just seems more generally useful. Also, since more arm than leg activity involves independent use of each, it would seem less difficult to get used to.
To add to this, on a final note, please make it my left arm. I don't want to have to learn to write all over again. Unless it makes my hand-writing not look terrible. In that case, please hack off my right arm.
